This week our choice comes on Friday night down at the rather delightful Hifi. Although the line-up is a bit hit and miss, when it hits, it hits bloody hard. The first act of note on stage is the rather lovely Captain Wilberforce. This chap sent us an E.P over the summer ‘A Very British Earthquake’ and it bought us all skipping gaily out of the Belle & Sebastian closet. Wilberforce is responsible for British pop in the Ballboy/ Teenage Fan Club mould that you can’t help but tweely bob along to. If the bouncers let you in with said accompaniments he would sound much better with a pot of tea and a cream cake, but I’m guessing they won’t. Bastards.
